Here is a genial approach to giving some payback to the financial genius that have gotten the world in this crisis: use the illiquid assets to pay the bonuses. This way the management gets a sizable piece of the “excellent” products they have been selling!
Someone into conspiracy theories could even start thinking that this assets are probably not that toxic…
